New Dutch Telecom legislation became effective on the 5th of June 2012. The new law is sometimes referred to as the "Cookie-law" since the law includes some sections on the use of internet cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on the harddisk or in the memory of your local computer. These text files are used by the webbrowser (Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) on the computer that is used to visit websites.

The 'Multi Organ Donor Procurement Surgery' E-learning has made a significant effort to keep the cookies to a minimum. There are a number of instances where cookies are used in the website and this is in compliance with the law:

  • If you register or log-in.
  • If you are an administrator of the website, you will also need to register and log-in.
  • If you are participating in the course, you will also need to register and log-in.

Of course, it is possible to ban cookies altogether. However, the log-in and registration functionality of the Multi Organ Donor Procurement Surgery E-learning cannot be guaranteed then.

The website of the National Cyber Security Centre of the Ministry of Justice and Security provides information about safe internet usage.
